Why we need a new Piano
- Our Baldwin grand piano, built in 1969 and bought in 2010, has served us well.
- It is beginning to have some problems, especially staying in tune and we have been working on possible solutions to this issue for a couple of years.
- Given that our sanctuary is one of the best acoustic spaces in the Comox Valley, we feel an excellent piano should be part of that space.

Cost
$48,400
- We can purchase this piano for $48,400, which includes duet bench, delivery, initial tuning, custom cover, tax, and a 5-year warranty.
- We hope to add a maintenance fund of $4400, to ensure that we have funding in place for the future.
- The price for a new Yamaha C7 would be over $100,000.

Towards the Future
- On hold for us is a beautiful 2004 Yamaha C7 (7 ft.) concert-level piano at Tom Lee Music in Langford
- It has had only one private owner, has been gently used, and is in excellent condition. It is a rare find, and Tom Lee Music has been helpful in ensuring we can reserve it.
- It plays beautifully, with a sensitive touch and great dynamic range.
- Gloria Herauf , Sarah Hagen, and Catherine Ordronneau of Kaimerata, all love it!
- Yamaha pianos are known for their reliability, consistency and durability. This piano was built with specifications for the North American climate.
- With proper maintenance, it should last 50-75 years, a tremendous legacy for the Comox Valley Musical Community.

You Can Play a Part
- We need to raise the funds to purchase this piano, and we are asking our Comox United Church congregation to play a part.
- We are also appealing to the broader Comox Valley Community of music-lovers to make their contribution.
- In addition to church functions and events, our piano and performance space are used by several pianists, musicians and choirs throughout the year as their home concert space in the Comox Valley.
- We believe this piano will help us attract even more fine musicians to our venue, and the entire Comox Valley community will be able to enjoy concerts here.
